LOFT RD OVER SCHENEVUS CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, BNY 2021

This project replaces the bridge that carries Loft Rd over Schenevus Creek, in the town of Maryland, Otsego County. A standard two-lane multi-girder bridge replaces the existing single span one-lane bridge. The project involves adequately lengthening the bridge span and adds new abutments founded on piles with scour protection.

Issue Description:
Minor roadway alignment modifications will be investigated to improve safety at approaches. A hydraulic study will be performed to ensure the new bridge hydraulic opening is properly sized. If determined necessary by the hydraulic study, a vertical realignment of the roadway will be investigated to provide adequate freeboard. The project may require a temporary structure during construction to maintain access.
