Objectives

The objective of this project is to reduce the probability and severity of large truck crashes along Route 8 in a cost-effective manner. This will be done by improving key highway elements that have contributed to large truck crashes: horizontal and vertical sight distance, horizontal curvature, superelevation, rollover, shoulder width and slope, clear zone traversability for large vehicles, and guide rail system durability.
