INFORM CCTV Install on NY27 and I495 e/o NY112

Project ID No. 080974 , Contract Number D263559

Description

The INformation FOR Motorists (INFORM) Transportation Management Center (TMC) uses Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera feeds to help with situational awareness and congestion mitigation especially during daily AM and PM rush hours, special events (like Jones Beach Air Show, 4th of July Fireworks, Belmont Stakes Race, etc.), weather related events, and/or traffic incidents. Our present CCTV system on the Long Island Expressway (I-495) ends at NY112 and Sunrise Highway (NY27) and has only limited coverage. This project proposes to install CCTV cameras and related Information Technology Services (ITS) equipment to the east of NY112 on the Long Island Expressway (I495), on Sunrise Highway (NY27), and other locations to expand coverage and for increased situational awareness. Towns of Hempstead, Babylon, Oyster Bay, Islip, Brookhaven, Riverhead, East Hampton and Southampton. Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
